METROPOLIS LIVE
Film concert by Antonio Bras on Fritz Lang’s masterpiece
The FILM CONCERT
Antonio Bras has been performing live with Fritz Lang’s silent film classic for 25 years!
The film concert of Fritz Lang’s silent movie Metropolis, in its 2010 restored version, is a top-tier cultural event. The specially developed electronic soundtrack casts the film’s iconic imagery in an entirely new light.
This is where electronic sound meets neo-classical music. Classical compositions, ambient textures, and samples are seamlessly integrated into a rich, digital electronic soundscape.
The result: a new soundtrack that bridges the gap between a legendary film and the 21st century.

The film METROPOLIS
Fritz Lang’s silent film classic is a masterpiece of cinematic aesthetics and a milestone in the history of science fiction cinema. Today, it is perhaps the most famous silent film of the Expressionist era, strongly influenced by Bauhaus style. Since 2001, Metropolis has been part of UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register.
In the futuristic city of Metropolis, society is split into two classes. The workers are oppressed in underground machine halls, laboring endlessly on assembly lines, while the wealthy elite enjoy their leisure in the sky-high “eternal gardens.” A rebellion by the oppressed masses leads to violence, chaos, and destruction—but ultimately also to reconciliation.
