The FILM CONCERT

Before 2010, Antonio Bras had already performed his first arrangement of Metropolis several times in Germany and Romania. After the rediscovery of the film’s long-lost sequences in Argentina in 2008, he expanded and reworked his musical concept in mid-2009.

The world premiere of this updated version took place on May 29, 2010, at the Transilvanian International Film Festival (TIFF) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Over 1,200 enthusiastic visitors filled the sold-out Cinema Republica and celebrated the performance. The live show was praised by critics and voted second place by the audience out of more than 400 films.

The combination of electronic music with the black-and-white visuals of 1928 creates a completely new impression, setting this version of Metropolis apart from the classical interpretations. Due to Antonio Bras’s distinctive soundtrack, the film becomes a truly immersive audio-visual experience that continues to captivate audiences.
